Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how National Mortgage Assistance collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you. For the rules that govern your use of our website and SMS program, see our Terms of Service.
1. Who we are
National Mortgage Assistance (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides HUD-certified counseling and loss-mitigation support to homeowners in all 50 states. You can reach us at 2201 N Grand Ave #10523, Santa Ana, CA 92711, by phone at (888) 238-0086, or by email at info@nationalmortgageassistance.net.
2. Information we collect
- Contact details you submit through our consultation form: name, phone number, and email address.
- SMS-consent records — when you opt in to text messages, we record the date and time, the IP address used to submit the form, and the exact consent language you agreed to.
- Hardship information you choose to share with a counselor during a consultation, such as mortgage servicer, account status, and financial circumstances.
- Technical data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected through standard web analytics.
3. How we use your information
- To respond to your consultation request and communicate with you about your case.
- To send SMS messages you have opted in to receive (account notifications, appointment reminders, document requests, and case updates from a counselor).
- To prepare hardship packages and negotiate with your mortgage servicer on your behalf.
- To improve our website and services.
- To comply with applicable laws and regulations.
4. SMS data & third-party sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in data, or the content of SMS messages with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers collected for SMS purposes are used only to deliver the messages you have consented to receive and to maintain records required for compliance.
The only circumstances in which SMS-related information may be processed by a third party are:
- Our SMS delivery provider (a licensed messaging platform), strictly for the purpose of transmitting messages to you on our behalf.
- Where required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of National Mortgage Assistance, our clients, or the public.
For the rules that govern the SMS program itself — message frequency, opt-out instructions, and other operational terms — see the SMS Program Terms in our Terms of Service.
5. Other information sharing
Outside the SMS context, we share the personal information you provide only with:
- Your mortgage servicer, with your authorization, to negotiate on your behalf.
- Government and regulatory agencies where disclosure is required.
- Service providers who help us operate (e.g., secure hosting, email delivery), bound by confidentiality obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Data retention
We retain consultation records for as long as needed to provide services and to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations. SMS opt-in records are retained for the period required by carrier and regulatory rules.
7. Your choices
- You can opt out of SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message.
- You can request access to or deletion of your personal information by emailing us.
- Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with applicable privacy laws may have additional rights, including the right to know, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work continuously to maintain the integrity of our systems.
9. Children
Our services are not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from minors.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
